Tower Climbing Technician

📍 Oregon (Travel Required)  •  Full-Time

The Role

Tower work is physically demanding, technically precise, and not for everyone. Richesin Engineering maintains and installs equipment on communication towers across Oregon, and we need experienced, safety-conscious climbers who know what they're doing at height.

You'll be climbing towers for antenna installations, equipment swaps, inspections, and maintenance. Safety is non-negotiable — OSHA compliance is the floor, not the ceiling. We expect our climbers to know their gear, respect the environment, and look out for the people they work with.

Two or more years of tower climbing experience and a valid driver's license are required. ComTrain or equivalent certification is preferred. Travel across Oregon is part of the job. We provide equipment and handle the logistics — you bring the skills, the composure, and the willingness to work in places that make people on the ground nervous.

What You'll Do

  • Climb communication towers to perform antenna installations, equipment swaps, and maintenance
  • Conduct tower inspections and document findings accurately
  • Install and secure coaxial cables, jumpers, and mounting hardware
  • Perform rigging and material handling at height
  • Maintain all climbing gear and personal protective equipment to OSHA standards
  • Coordinate with ground crew on lifts, tool transfers, and safety procedures
  • Follow all fall protection and tower safety protocols without exception
  • Complete work orders and field reports accurately

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of tower climbing experience in a professional setting
  • OSHA fall protection training and compliance
  • ComTrain, NWSA, or equivalent tower climbing certification preferred
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Physical ability to climb and work at heights for extended periods
  • Comfort with travel and irregular project schedules
  • Team-oriented attitude and clear communication with ground crews
  • First aid / CPR certification preferred

The Honest Part

Heights required. Fear of heights not compatible with this role. You will be asked to go places that make people on the ground nervous. In return, you will get great views, solid pay, and the permanent ability to say "yeah, I do that for work" at parties.

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay commensurate with experience
  • Meaningful work on projects that matter — real infrastructure, real communities
  • Travel opportunities across Oregon, Alaska, Hawaii, and beyond
  • A tight-knit team that trusts you to do your job well
  • Room to grow as the company grows
  • The satisfaction of working in places most companies won't go
