Low Voltage / Field Technician

📍 Central Oregon (Some travel)  •  Full-Time

The Role

If you're comfortable with a drill, can read a wiring diagram, and know how to mount things so they stay mounted, we should talk. Richesin Engineering is expanding our low-voltage field team in Central Oregon, and we're looking for a technician who can handle a wide range of installation work — from Starlink dish installs to surveillance camera systems to structured cabling.

This is hands-on, in-the-field work. You'll be visiting customer sites, planning installation approaches, running cables, terminating connectors, mounting equipment, and configuring systems for handoff. Some days you're on a roof. Some days you're in a server room. Some days both.

An Oregon low-voltage license is preferred. If you don't have one yet but have the aptitude and work ethic, we're willing to support you in getting licensed. What we're not willing to do is hire someone who does sloppy work — this is technical infrastructure and it matters.

What You'll Do

  • Install Starlink satellite internet systems at residential and commercial sites
  • Mount and configure IP surveillance cameras and NVR systems
  • Install access control systems including door controllers and card readers
  • Run and terminate structured cabling (Cat5e/Cat6/fiber)
  • Configure network switches and basic IP network components
  • Troubleshoot existing low-voltage installations and identify faults
  • Complete accurate documentation of installations and as-built drawings
  • Communicate professionally with customers throughout the installation process

What We're Looking For

  • 1+ years of experience in low-voltage, A/V, security, or IT field work
  • Oregon low-voltage technician license preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience with Starlink, IP cameras, or structured cabling a strong plus
  • Comfortable working on rooftops, in attics, and in server rooms
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Own basic hand tools (we provide specialized equipment)
  • Reliable, professional, and customer-facing capable
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various weather conditions

The Honest Part

You will install Starlink dishes on rooftops across Central Oregon. Sometimes people will bring you lemonade. Sometimes a dog will bark at you the entire time. The pay is the same either way. If you own a drill and know how to use a level, you're already ahead of 40% of applicants.

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay commensurate with experience
  • Meaningful work on projects that matter — real infrastructure, real communities
  • Travel opportunities across Oregon, Alaska, Hawaii, and beyond
  • A tight-knit team that trusts you to do your job well
  • Room to grow as the company grows
  • The satisfaction of working in places most companies won't go
